The brief

For our client’s new ultra-long acting insulin for diabetes in Europe and the USA. Develop the strategy for and deliver in 15-months a publication plan supporting the new insulin delivery device.

Our solution

External experts were identified and engaged as a scientific communications committee for the plan. A workshop organised within weeks of data availability evaluated the key scientific statements supporting the launch. ESP created a publication plan integrating the workshop consensus and the launch sequence of USA and then Europe. With only 6 months to the launch, the launch sequence was switched from the USA to Europe. ESP reprioritised the delivery of plan activities so aligning with this change.

The result

ESP worked with all stakeholders to ensure delivery of all key plan elements for EU launch. This included successful delivery of over 25 congress communications and peer-reviewed papers in the 2 weeks prior to launch. This maximised the impact of the plan. The evidence and scientific statements supporting the product were disseminated to the right audiences at the right time.
