Meet our management team

Managing Director

A passion for creating communication strategies for clients that change behaviour and improve patients lives made Steve co-found ESP. Steve Waye enjoys working closely with clients to develop innovative approaches and compelling communications to meet their needs.

Steve Waye has worked with ESP clients across numerous therapeutic areas. These include neuroscience, endocrinology, diabetes, medical devices, oncology, haematology, rare diseases cardiovascular disease, rheumatology, gastro-enterology, and HIV. Prior to starting ESP in 2007, Steve led a successful 12-year career in pharmaceutical sales and marketing. Launching brands for cardiology, oncology, haematology and rare diseases. Before going on to hold senior and board positions with global communication agencies.

Catherine Murphy has a passion for people and building exceptional teams who create outstanding work for our clients. She challenges them to go the ‘extra mile’ for clients so they realise the highs of what can be achieved.

Respected by clients for a proven track record of excellent customer service and a creative vision. Catherine Murphy leads multi-disciplinary projects across many therapeutic areas. Her strengths include external expert engagement, meetings management, medical education, training, salesforce effectiveness and benchmarking, and meeting facilitation. Prior to co-founding ESP, Catherine enjoyed a successful 15-year career in senior pharmaceutical sales, learning, and development roles.

Recognised by ESP’s clients for his highly developed scientific acumen and therapy area understanding. Martin Gilmour provides scientific oversight and leads the scientific services team in the development of compelling content for communications.

Martin Gilmour's experience includes neuroscience, diabetes, endocrinology, cardiovascular disease, gastroenterology, oncology, haematology, rare diseases, HIV, anti-infectives, anti-fungals, vaccines, and erectile dysfunction. Prior to joining ESP in 2008, Martin spent 12-years with leading communication consultancies in senior medical writing and editorial roles.
